These Terms & Conditions govern your use of Elimu254 — a marketplace for CBC-aligned teaching materials, an AI-assisted content drafting tool, and a School Portal for participating schools. By creating an account or using the site, you agree to these terms.
1. WHO CAN USE ELIMU254
Marketplace accounts (browsing, buying, and downloading documents) are open to anyone who registers with a valid email address. Teacher accounts on the School Portal are created only by a school administrator on our platform, not by self-registration — this prevents anyone from falsely claiming to teach at a school. Student accounts are created by the student themselves using a join code their teacher shares; by sharing a join code with a student, a teacher confirms they have the authority (and, where required by law, any necessary parental or guardian consent) to enrol that student.
2. BUYING AND DOWNLOADING DOCUMENTS
Prices are shown in Kenyan Shillings (KSh) and payment is made by M-Pesa. When you buy a document, you receive a personal license to download and use it for your own teaching or your school's use — you may not resell it, redistribute it outside your school, or republish it on another platform. Free documents are provided under the same personal-use restriction. Download links are time-limited for security; if a link expires before you've downloaded your purchase, contact us for a fresh one.
Some services (like recurring subscriptions) may in future involve M-Pesa payments, but M-Pesa does not support automatic recurring billing — any renewal will always require you to actively approve a fresh payment prompt, never an automatic charge to your phone.
3. AI-GENERATED CONTENT
Documents produced through our AI Content Studio (exams, notes, schemes of work, lesson plans, and timetables) are drafted with AI assistance and always reviewed by a human before being published or delivered. AI-drafted timetables in particular are a starting point, not a guarantee — a school must still check for clashes (double-booked teachers or rooms) before using one. We do not offer, and will never offer, automated grading or marking of student work; any feedback or CBC competency-level rating attached to a student's assignment on the School Portal is written by their own teacher, not generated by AI.
4. SCHOOL PORTAL
The School Portal is provided for a school's own teachers and enrolled students to share class materials, assignments, and progress notes. It is a private classroom tool, not the official KNEC government assessment record. Access to a class's materials and submissions is restricted to that class's teacher and its enrolled students.
5. ACCOUNT RESPONSIBILITIES
Keep your password confidential and notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization. You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide when registering.
6. ACCEPTABLE USE
Don't attempt to scrape, resell, or redistribute paid content; don't attempt to circumvent download limits or access controls; don't submit spam, malicious files, or content that infringes someone else's rights; don't attempt to access another user's account or another school's School Portal data.
7. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Documents on Elimu254 remain the intellectual property of their authors or of Elimu254, as applicable. Purchasing a document grants you a license to use it as described above — it does not transfer ownership or copyright to you.
8. DISCLAIMER AND LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
Documents and AI-drafted content are provided to assist your teaching, not as a substitute for your own professional judgment or your school's curriculum oversight — always review content, especially AI-assisted drafts, before using it with students. To the extent permitted by law, Elimu254 is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the site.
9. TERMINATION
We may suspend or close an account that violates these terms, including School Portal misuse. You may close your own account at any time by contacting us.
10. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these terms from time to time; continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya.
